Potts, a CPA who spent her early career as an auditor with PricewaterhouseCoopers in New York and Miami, joined Career Associates, a local accounting
recruiting firm, in the early 1980s. Potts later became President of Career Temps, which grew to become the largest independently-owner accounting placement/recruitment
firm in Florida with five offices covering Miami through Palm Beach. In 1995, Career Associates/Career Temps was sold to Interim Personnel (subsequently
Spherion), an international, publicly-traded staffing firm. Potts remained with Spherion as a Managing Director until she left in 2000 to pursue her
writing career.
In Their Blood, Potts’s debut novel, was picked up by Massachusetts-based Oceanview Publishing, one of the country’s leading independent
publishers of original works within the mystery/thriller/suspense genres. Oceanview will release In Their Blood in hardcover on September
8, 2009. In Their Blood will be available in bookstores nationwide.
Set in Miami, In Their Blood is a suspenseful thriller about a young man seeking to avenge the horrendous murders of his parents. A timely
and topical tale, In Their Blood exposes the aftermath of a fictional Miami-based financial scam that makes Bernie Madoff
look like an amateur.
Potts commented: “I never imagined that my career in public accounting, having an economics buff for a husband, and being a hovering mom, would
all crystallize into a novel. But once I threw in the irresistible backdrop of steamy, seductive and sometimes scam-ridden Miami, everything fell
into place.”
Even prior to its release, In Their Blood has garnered tremendous enthusiasm. Michael Connelly, New York Times best-selling
author of The Scarecrow, offered his praise for Sharon Potts and the novel:“In Their Blood starts with a bang and never lets
up. This is thriller writing the way it is supposed to be.” Publishers Weekly called it “a red-hot suspense novel” and
gave it a starred review.
A native of New York, Potts lives in Miami Beach with her husband, Joe. She is an active member of Mystery Writers of America and served
as treasurer of the Florida chapter and co-chair of SleuthFest, its national writers conference held in Deerfield Beach.
In Their Blood will be available wherever fine books are sold on September 8, 2009. Oceanview Publishing (www.oceanviewpub.com)
is an independent publisher headquartered in Massachusetts. Oceanview is a proud member of the International Thriller Writers and Mystery Writers
of America. For more information, please contact Maryglenn McCombs by phone (615-297-9875) or by email (maryglenn@maryglenn.com).
